Library History

The library has always been a pivotal point for our community. In 1979, during the Centennial Fall Festival residents of the town had began the huge undertaking of fundraising to have a new library built. In 1981, volunteers began building the Morton building were the library would be housed on one side and the right side would be the new community building. Libraries are the heart of every community and ours is no different.
This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
